Hyundai is the Seoul based automobile maker from South Korea. It has been in the Indian automobile arena since 1996. An updated version, Santro Xing, came into existence a few years ago. Santro was the first car introduced by the maker in India in 1998. Now, it has plans to bring out a diesel version of Santro Xing, whose petrol and LPG versions got a good response by the customers. This hatchback falls in the B segment, and it comes with a 1.1litre CRDi diesel engine. The other available variants of the car are; Non AC, GL Plus, Celebration Edition, GLS (Petrol) and GL Plus, GL Plus LPG special edition, GLS LPG (LPG).
This B segment hatch is going to fall in this category due to its expected dimensions of 3565mm length, 1525 width and 1590mm height. The wheelbase it is going to have is 2380mm, and the minimum turning radius will be of 4.4m, The fuel-tank capacity of the car will be around 35litres. There will be large and radiant clear lens headlights with halogen lamps along with side turn blinkers. It will have body colored door handles and ORVMs. Carved out wheel arches with 13 inch steel rims will be there same as the petrol version of the car.
Interiors of this upcoming car comprise dual toned Beige and Brown colors, a rear parcel tray, a rear speaker grille and a front map lamp, trendy AC vents. Other than these, this hatch features a powerful AC with heater, a trip meter with an odometer, low fuel warning lamp, a remote fuel lid and boot lid release, a one DIN audio system with CD/MP3 player, AM/FM/ Radio, USB port, AUX-in. The central console will have silver finished chrome gear knob.
This five seater might come loaded with a 1.1Liter, CRDi engine with a displacement of 1100cc. The SOHC, 4 in-line cylinder, 12 valve engine cranks off a maximum power of 69bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 160Nm at 1500rpm. This engine is speculated to be mated with a 5 speed manual transmission. This will deliver a mileage of around 12kmpl in city and 15kmpl on long revs.
The suspension system of the car is expected to be equipped with McPherson strut type with coil spring at the front and torsion beam with coil spring at the rear. It is going to have a braking system powered by front ventilated disc brake and self-adjusting drum brakes at the rear. It is supposed to have a driver side front door map pocket and sporty adjustable seats and the rear seats will be integrated with head restraints.
There were many safety features in the petrol version of the car for instance its availability in a number of variants with different features. In addition, we expect that the diesel version will have good features similarly. On the whole, Hyundai Santro Xing Diesel is up for its availability in the diesel form and the hatchbacks like; Maruti Alto 800, Nissan Micra and Chevrolet Spark are there to compete with this car.
