The fourth generation Honda City has finally made it to the Indian car market with both petrol and diesel engine options. The company has latest sedan and now it has officially launched the vehicle in a very competitive price range. For the first time ever, this next generation sedan is made available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine option under the hood that is capable of delivering an impressive mileage of about 26 Kmpl. On the other hand, the petrol version is blessed with the same old 1.5-litre petrol power plant that is powering the outgoing version. This fourth generation edition of Honda City comes with a brand new style and appearance that makes it look more stunning than the outgoing version. The company has also made changes to the interior section of this sedan and improved the room space. The dashboard inside the cabin gets a layered design with silver inserts on it. The company showed an uncompromisable approach towards the safety and protective aspects of this sedan and blessed it with advanced features. Its ACE body structure is one of the most important aspect that offers a top level protection to the passengers inside by diverting the collision energy away from the passenger cabin. The top end variant in this model series is blessed with a one push engine start/stop button along with a smart key entry system that takes the level of comforts to a new high.

Mileage and Fuel Economy

The fuel efficiency of the petrol variants of this sedan series is improved in comparison to the outgoing model. The company is offering the petrol model series with both manual and CVT automatic gearbox option. The manual versions of this sedan are equipped with a 1.5-litre, i-VTEC petrol engine can deliver a mileage in the range of 17.4 to 17.8 Kmpl of maximum mileage, while the CVT versions can give away a maximum 18 Kmpl of mileage. On the other hand, the the diesel versions are equipped with a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC, 4-cylinder based engine that is capable of producing a peak mileage of 26 Kmpl, which is perhaps the best in the segment.

The all new Honda City is being offered in six attractive color shade options for the customers to choose from. This latest edition looks completely modern better than the rest of the sedans in the automobile segment. The company updated the design of the radiator grille along with headlight cluster and the bumper that brought a refreshing new look to the sedan. On the other hand, the taillight cluster design also been blessed with a striking new design and incorporated with LED light setup that adds to the magnificence of the rear profile. This commanding torque output is delivered to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox that helps in producing a peak mileage of 26 Kmpl. On the other hand, the petrol variants are equipped with a same old 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, i-VTEC engine that makes 1497cc displacement capacity. This engine is based on SOHC valve configuration and incorporated with an electronic fuel injection system that enables the motor to deliver a reliable performance. The maximum power produced by this engine is about 117.3bhp at 6600rpm, while yielding a peak torque output of about 145Nm at just 4600rpm. The company is selling the petrol variants with both manual and CVT automatic gearbox options. The manual versions of this sedan are coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox that has the ability to produce a peak mileage of about 17.4 to 17.8 Kmpl. On the other hand, the automatic version's engine is coupled with a 5-speed CVT automatic gearbox option that produces a class leading mileage of 18 Kmpl.

Wheels

The base and mid level variants in the Honda City model series comes fitted with a set of conventional 15-inch steel wheels equipped with full wheel caps, whereas the top end variants are blessed with a set of stylish 15-inch alloy wheels. These wheels have been covered with a set of high performance tubeless tubeless radial tyres of size 175/65 R15 that can deal with rugged roads and keeps the vehicle agile.
