Honda Mobilio Description
Honda has unveiled yet another model in the form of Honda Mobilio in the Indonesian auto market. This MPV is expected to come to the Indian car market sometime in the next year. This is a new MPV model introduced by the Japanese auto giant and it is expected to be the first MPV from the company in the Indian car market. It is brand new vehicle based on Honda Amaze platform and it will compete with the most successful Maruti Ertiga in India. The company has unveiled this new MPV in Indonesia by fitting it with a refined 1.5-litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine under the hood. There are rumors doing the rounds that the company will also offer this vehicle with a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC diesel engine option as well. This yet to be introduced Multipurpose vehicle will come with a decent overall length and with a larger wheelbase that assures a roomy interior space for all the occupants. It is a seven seater model that comes with 2+3+2 seating arrangement, which will be ideal for the large Indian families. The company has improved the petrol engine and designed a 1.5-litre, i-VTEC, 4-cylinder petrol mill, which is learned to have the ability to churn out 116.3bhp of maximum power at 6600rpm and generates a peak torque output of about 146Nm at 4800rpm. Some of the auto portals also reveal that the vehicle will be made available with an option to choose from manual and automatic gearbox option as well, but nothing has been officially confirmed as yet. As far as the diesel engine is concern, it is going to be the 1.5-litre, i-DTEC diesel engine, which is currently doing duties for Honda Amaze compact sedan series. This engine will produce a maximum power of about 98.6bhp at 3600rpm while generating 200Nm of torque at 1750rpm. This engine is expected to be skilfully mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox as standard.
When it comes to the style and appearance, this upcoming Honda Mobilio is quite trendy and eye-catching. This yet to be launched vehicle has got the design elements of Honda Amaze on its front and side profiles. The rear profile of this MPV is quite different and very unusual sort of a design in comparison to other MPVs of its class. Mileage and Fuel Economy
Coming to the fuel economy, the company hasn't revealed anything regarding the mileage figures of Honda Mobilio, but we can expect it to be in an economical range. According to the experts, the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol mill is expected to offer a mileage in a range of 14 Kmpl in the city traffic to 16 Kmpl, when driven on the highways. While the diesel trim could give away a maximum of 20 Kmpl, which is also a speculative figure.
The upcoming Honda Mobilio that was unveiled at the Indonesian car market was painted in light chocolate brown color shade, which is quite fascinating. We can also expect that the company will roll out this new model along with a few more color shades that allows the individuals to choose according to their personality and lifestyle.
Acceleration and Pick up
The petrol engine powered Honda Mobilio is blessed with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC motor that is most powerful in its class. It is expected to come with an ability to reach a top speed in the range of about 160 to 170 Kmph, while breaking the 100 Kmph speed barrier in around 15 seconds. On the other hand, its i-DTEC diesel engine could achieve a top speed of about 175 Kmph, while reaching 100 Kmph mark in just about 16 to 17 seconds, which is quite impressive.
In terms of appearance, this upcoming Honda Mobilio MPV has got a very sophisticated side and rear profile, while its front facade has got the design elements of Honda Brio and Honda Amaze. To start with the frontage, this yet to be launched Honda Mobilio gets the large headlight cluster merging with character line, while the radiator grille is very stylish and quite different from what we have seen on the existing Honda Brio and Amaze models. There is a lot of chrome has been used on the front radiator grille to obtain premium and rich looks. The front bumper gets a bit of sportier elements, while being painted in body color. There is a protective cladding under the front bumper enhancing its style from the front. The side profile of this MPV is very sleek and expressive with next generation design elements. The design of the classy alloy wheels is catchy and it dominates the side profile. The door handles and the external rear view mirrors have been painted in body color, while the window sills gets black color garnish. The rear profile of this MPV is very aggressive and completely different from conventional MPV models. It gets a large boot lid along with a sleek bumper with some sort of design incorporated with reflectors on it. This makes it bolder and aggressive in comparison with other MPVs in the segment.
As far as comfort features are concerned, this recently unveiled Honda Mobilio MPV is expected to get all the features that were offered with Honda Amaze sedan or the Brio hatchback model series. We can expect a lot of impressive features which might include an efficient air conditioning system with heater, a responsive power steering, front and rear power windows, a central locking, a key less entry, driver seat height adjustment, cup holders, vanity mirror and various other important features. On the other hand, its diesel variant is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC, 4-cylinder diesel engine having a displacement capacity of about 1498cc. This engine can churn out 98.6bhp of power at 3600rpm and generates 200Nm of peak torque at 1750rpm that is impressive. Both these engines are expected to be mated with a five speed manual transmission gear box.
This yet to be launched Honda Mobilio MPV is expected to be equipped with a robust set of stylish 15 inch alloy wheels for its top end variants, while its base and mid range variants are expected to get 15 inch steel wheels. These wheels will be covered with high performance, low maintenance tubeless radial tyres.
As far as suspension system is concerned, this upcoming Honda Mobilio MPV will be bestowed with high quality, robust suspension system that takes the driving comforts to a new level. We can expect its front axle will be fitted with McPherson Strut type of suspension, while its rear axle is expected to be assembled with Torsion Beam type of suspension system.
Handling and Control
The upcoming Honda Mobilio MPV will be offered with conventional disc and drum braking mechanism, which is standard in most of the four wheelers in automobile market. The front wheels are expected to be assembled with disc brakes, while the rear wheels will be getting the efficient drum brakes. On the other hand, the top end variant of Honda Mobilio will be offered with an advanced anti lock braking system, which will enhance the braking mechanism of this upcoming MPV.
