Tata Safari Storme Description
The first look of Tata Safari Storme was out at the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi. It seems that Tata has managed to convert criticism into creativity as it has designed Tata Safari Storme to bear professional, masculine and no nonsense looks that will speak for the personality of its buyers. The professionalism is marked by the minimalist exterior design with L-shaped Xenon headlamps, round fog lamps placed on body colored bumpers, turn lights integrated on OVRM, body colored door handles, square tail lamps and dual chrome plated trapezoidal exhaust pipes. The masculinity is reinforced by straight lines and curves across the SUV. The interiors of the 7 seater Tata Safari Storme are designed to keep it just luxurious; no more and no less. The features include new meter dials with white backlight, high quality plastics, powerful air conditioning system with climate control and 2 AC vents, large pop-up storage box on the dashboard, more storage area with foldable 3rd row seats, leather seats, power windows, power steering, climate control, electric door side mirrors and rear defogger. Cruise control, satellite navigation system and multi-information display are expected but not confirmed.
Tata Safari Storme will be powered by a 2.2 litre DICOR diesel engine that hauls a maximum power of 140 BHP at 4000 rpm along with 320 Nm of torque at 1700-2700 rpm. With the impressive power stats it also delivers a staggering displacement of 2197cc which promises quick acceleration. The G76 MKII five speed manual gearbox mated with this engine will be built on the dual mass flywheel technology that minimizes noise, vibration and harshness. This engine feature combined with the Low friction bearing will make sure that you enjoy high speed driving without noise distraction. The engine is speculated to deliver a city mileage of 11 km per litre and a highway mileage of about 15 km per litre. This will be practically amazing for an SUV and best in its genre. Will it overpower the mHawk engine of Mahindra XUV 500 remains to be seen. There will be a change of wheels in Tata safari Storme which will now be fitted with 5 twin spoke alloy wheels borrowed from Tata Aria with 235/70 R16 105 S. A spare wheel will be fitted beneath the chassis. The Ventilated front brakes and disc rear brakes will be coupled with Independent double wishbone together with torsion bar suspension.
There will be plenty of practical safety features like remote central locking system, 6 airbags, ABS (Anti Lock Brake System) with ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), Traction Control, Brake assist, parking sensors and fog lamps.

This SUV is developed on X2 platform, which is Tata's new ladder chassis that has already been tasted in the flagship model Tata Aria. Mileage and Fuel Economy
The brawny SUV is hard at its core as well that enable it to compete rough terrain contrasting its sparkling exteriors. It is powered by powerful engine too, so as to complement masculine core. Acceleration and Pick up
The new Tata Safari Storme counts good athlete by delivering a performance of 0–100 kmph in less then 15 seconds. Its 2.2-liter DOHC DICOR engine, being turbocharged with VTT (variable turbine technology), it is perfects in delivering 140bhp power and a torque of 320Nm. Being equipped with this powertrain it provides easy driveability, swifter response and reduced NVH (noise, vibration and harshness). The SUV is also equipped with ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) technology, enabling engagement of the 4x4 or 4X2 mode on the move. Yet it is highly fuel efficient and competes to offer 14 kmpl in the 4X2 variant and 13.2 kmpl as in its 4X4 variant.The Safari Storme’s ladder frame chassis is constructed with advanced hydroformed members, for high load capabilities and robustness. This type of body designing enhances rigidity while counting low on weight. The ground clearance is 200 mm.
The Tata Safari Storme has an all new front look grill, side cladding, new projector headlamps and an all new rear look. The front fascia seems to be smiling with huge toothed mouth being introduced with new honeycomb grille proudly holding the brand signature logo. The bulging huge bonnet makes this new entrant very much different from its original version. Mesmerizing exteriors are just amazing for SUV like this, being Robust at its core it offers a true adventure ride for any kind of terrain. The low beam projector headlamps are fairly fitted along the either side of the grille. The front is defined with raised bumpers and neatly crafted fenders for the wheels. Moving on to the side profile it is slightly carved out to allign with the prominent fenders leading bold and sporty look. The side profile is well highlighted with body colored door handles, body colored outside rear view mirror's which are integrated with turn indicator lights and are automatically operated from inside. Slantly held large windscreen made up of good quality toughened glass match well with the body design, and the appearance is very well enhanced with tinted windows of both the side which are electrically operated. The keyless entry and remote fuel filler are new technological enhancement on its exterior part. The five dual spoked alloy wheels complete the over all look of this macho driving device. Accounting for the rear view, high definition square tail lamps are a boost to the spunky look. Body aligned footsteps along the side profile below the gates and below the tail gate enhance its macho man appeal. Sleek lights on the raised bumpers complement the complete look with highly placed roof spoiler. Rear part is best complemented with rear defogger and rear wipers to make driving more pleasurable during rain or fog even. The highly noticeable attribute on the rear side of the SUV is the introduction of dual chrome plated trapezoidal exhaust pipes imparting a much aggressive look.
The SUV is made quite spacious and opulence, and it could accommodate 7 adult persons happily. Tata Safari Strome comes with power windows, remote fuel filler, remote central locking, it is accompanied with climate control. The rear side AC vents are now continently fitted as per the seating structure. The cup holders come ahead of the gear box making it easier for the driver.The other highlighted attributes adding comfort into the traveling experience are tinted glass, electrically adjustable ORVM's, turn indicators, rear wipers complemented with defogger. The infotainment system of this bold car could be defined with remote boot and DVD MP3 player.The spare wheel is placed just beneth the chassis. The third row seats are comfortably foldable as per requirement, even the second row 60:40 seat alligns with the same attribute.
The overall dimension of this SUV is 4655mm, 1965mm, and 1922 as length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase of this huge driving device is 2650mm and it comes with a ground clearance of 200mm.

New generation facelift Strome is far more better then the original version in regards to handling and riding it. The newly introduced suspension system has double wishbone and McPheron struts. This combination acts as good shock absorber and gives better rides on rough roads.
Handling and Control
The SUV comes equipped with ventilated brakes on its front end and the rear end is complemented with disk brakes. The braking systems offers ultimate control even at maximum speed. The braking system could be elaborated with ABS( anti lock braking system), ESC( electronic stability control), and EBD( electronic brake-force distribution) which comes integrated with brake assist. The power sensors, 6 airbags and remote parking sensors enhance the safety of occupants in the Car.
